GDUSA ENEWS PREVIEW: ON DEMAND EXPO 2010
The On Demand Show, perennially the largest digital printing and production event in North America, holds special promise and excitement this year. It will focus on print opportunities in an interactive era, with special emphasis on helping printers and designers take advantage of digital printing technologies, personalization and we-to-print to secure their place in the future of graphic communications. Here is a brief preview of the event.
Special thanks to Konica Minolta for sponsoring this preview. Konica Minolta is a sponsor of the On Demand Expo and will be introducing the first in a new generation of digital color presses, as well as displaying its full line of production print systems and solutions. The On Demand Conference & Exposition will take place April 20-22, 2010 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia. It's an appropriate venue, because the event seeks to spark a revolution in the current print business model. As described by Tom Bliss, Group Conference Director for Questex Media Group, producers of the event: "The digital transformation of the marketing, publishing, transaction printing, photo printing, and package printing industries continues to gather steam. We have gathered the best and brightest minds in the industry to talk candidly about the future of the industry and the rethinking of business models that's occurring as communications of all kinds continue to move online."
The lineup of the best and brightest starts with Jeff Hayes,
President of InfoTrends, will deliver the State of the
Industry Address: Print Opportunities in an Interactive World.
Hayes will kick off a series of speakers who will provide
insight and perspective on the future of the industry. Immediately
following the InfoTrends presentation, there will be an
all-star keynote panel comprised of some of the world's top
chief marketing officers and senior marketing executives from
leading brands and Fortune 500 companies. The panel will examine
where print fits in this new marketing landscape, how their
marketing strategies have shifted over the past year or two,
how they're likely to evolve in the near term based on the
economy, and what they'll be looking for from their print and
other marketing vendors in the months and years ahead.
The ON DEMAND conference program offers seven tracks with over
forty sessions during the two-day program. The in-depth
conference program features up-to-date innovations, in a
carefully designed program. Topics run the gamut from Digital
Printing Applications to Business Performance Improvement
Strategies to Digital Workflows and Automation to Profiting
From Web-To-Print. For a complete rundown of the agenda...
The show floor will be packed from end to end with state-of-the-art
solutions from the world's leading vendors. More than one hundred
leaders in printing, paper, and production will be on hand. The Expo
includes something for everyone, such as an expanded mailing &
fulfillment pavilion for people looking to establish or grow their
mailing capabilities, an application showcase theater for those in
search of educational content, not to mention an opening night
reception. In addition to a large exhibition by Konica Minolta,
other major exhibitors include GDUSA favorites Canon, EFI, HP Mohawk,
NewPage, Xerox, Yupo and 4over.
As if this were not enough to take in, the On Demand Event Conference & Expo is co-located with the AIIM Expo + Conference, the largest U.S.-based show serving the content and information managements spaces. The AIIM Expo floor will showcase best-in-class information management technology solution providers, including the Microsoft SharePoint Pavilion featuring up to 25 Microsoft Partners and an Immersion Experience Lab. Other highlights of the AIIM Expo are free education in Expo theaters and networking opportunities.
